FOURTH ANNUAL DETROIT IT-SECURITY
SUMMIT SET FOR OCTOBER 6th
DETROIT – Speakers from Gartner, Webroot Software and Tapit Partners will keynote the fourth annual Midwest IT-Security Summit scheduled in the Detroit area on Thursday, Oct. 6.
More than 200 of the region’s leading IT executives are expected to attend the day-long program at the Novi Sheraton Hotel in Novi, Mich. Entitled “Security That Works,” the conference also will include exhibits from 20 or more IT security vendors.
The summit’s speaker line-up will feature Ridgely Evers, managing partner at Tapit Partners and former CEO of nCircle; Richard Stiennon, vice president of Threat Research at Webroot, and Rich Mogull, vice president of Research for Gartner. Break-out sessions and panel discussions will include experts from industry, government and law-enforcement and emphasize data security, spyware, hacking and targeted attacks.
“An important focus of this year’s conference will be rapidly developing threats to IT security and the cutting edge technology being used to mitigate those threats,” said Chris Cameron, former CEO of Digital Detroit and founder of the IT Security Summit series of events.
Hosted by Digital Detroit for the past three years, the 2005 conference will be led by IT Harvest.
“We are extremely pleased that IT-Harvest has agreed to step into the role of host for this year’s event,” Cameron said. “We fully expect to build on the conference’s past successes and are pleased to have found a partner to carry this event’s vision forward.”
The summit will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be followed by a networking reception and afterglow. Registration is available online at www.it-harvest.com for $55 or at the door for $75.
Sponsors of previous IT Security Summits include Computer Associates, RSA Security, Netscreen, and Cisco. Headquartered in Birmingham, Mich., IT-Harvest specializes in hosting and managing premier IT security events. The company also serves as an advisor to security vendors and helps end users make informed choices about product selection.
